The first Beverley Club Night after the Summer break was greeted with miserable weather, not cold but blustery and wet – great!
This probably put off a number of new members, but it needn’t, once you are outside and running about you soon forget about the weather (in theory).
After a warm-up, the participants were offered the choice of a long or a short course, both finished off with 10 controls in a grid/maze, after a map exchange. Only Paul and Rosie were brave enough to have a go at the 2.4km course, Paul completing it in a very quick time, faster than all the short course runners. George had the fastest time on the short course, pipping South Bank coach Brain by a single second. Although on closer inspection it appeared that Brian hadn’t bothered with some of the controls!!
The fastest on the maze was Joe, but unfortunately he missed a control, so the order on the maze was Paul, George, Brian, Rosie, Emma. Click here for the full set of results.
Next week we aim to put the start back to 6:30pm to allow people more time to get here after work, look forward to seeing you all, Neil.
