Has anyone travelled further than Ocean Beach, New Zealand?

“It was a cattle grazing area with electric fences, runnable and as near to Antarctica as I’ll ever get.  A place named Bluff claiming oysters, paua and sunken ships.  I did a round trip of 410k to attend.  It was a hot day – middle of Summer.

 

I was welcomed by Sally who was planner, controller and organiser who put on a great event very modestly.  I filled in my own times using the club clock.  I was 5th on the Long ‘red’.    Thanks to Southland Orienteers for a great reception.”

 

Brian’s map with route is here, can anyone guess why he didn’t travel direct from 11 to 12 (before you look at the map)?
