20/03/2018 Spring Pub League 4 - Tealby

Report
With only one more event to go a number of runners are in contention. Last nights winner Marcus leads the pack closely followed by Mary. The other main contenders are all residents of Beverley Dean, Rosie and Jackie so home advantage may be critical.
Note next weeks Pub, the Green Dragon is being refurbished and is due to reopen the day before, so check on website before travelling. However, starts will be from the Market Place so should not be too difficult to spot.
Thanks to Isoldt for planning courses in the idyllic setting of Tealby on the edge of the Wolds, where route choice was limited but strategy once again was key especially with climb a major factor. Yet again nobody was able to collect all controls. This has been the trend in this Series, with all being Odds and Evens this makes it often difficult to achieve. Marcus collecting 19 is pretty awesome, I have lived in the village 18 years plus producing the map and only managed 16. I hope the 1:7500 map was legible even if the Finish was difficult to spot after 45 minutes of exertion!
The mud was in places a hard slog, however next week we return to our road shoes, hopefully we won't venture on to the equally muddy Westwood.
Thanks this week goes to Brian once again for single handedly managing the SI.
Fortunately Isoldt and I were able to collect controls this morning in daylight and all being well next week's event we will similarly not require head torches.
