6/02/2016 Bradley Woods, Grimsby
Report | Well, (that's not a reference to the water), the rain stayed away for the competition but Chris got blasted earlier as he placed 27 controls, grippling some for security. The courses were well received by participants. Courses were very well planned on this new area. The White and Yellow courses were very popular, 'Orange' not so. The Score Event was shorter than normal but very testing and technical for the more experienced participants. The map will be needing a few updates following some very constructive comments from our runners. Medals were awarded to all finishers. Congratulations to Matthew 1st on the White, and Kayleigh 1st lady in 3rd position. Max took 1st place on the Yellow with Kayleigh coming in 3rd once again. Marsaili had a very good run on the Orange being only 21 minutes behind Maestro Remi. Remi and Wayne added an extra training run on the 'Orange', after visiting all controls, so strictly speaking they were non-competitive. Therefore, Marsaili was outright winner on the 'ORANGE' with Elspeth in 2nd place; Well Done. You are an inspiration to other young people taking up The Sport. The Score Event was comfortably won by Remi in an incredible time of 21:15. Remi is over here from France studying in Scunthorpe. He tells me he makes maps and puts on orienteering courses, no wonder he is a good navigator! The SCORE results are in the 'String Results' section. A big Thank You to the helpers, Dominic H for assisting at download, the planner Chris Simmonds, and kite collectors: - Lawrence, David, Marsaili, Elspeth, Dominic S., Wayne and Chris once again.
