On Monday April 14th and Monday April 28th, we have the opportunity to do some training/coaching at Houghton Woods (venue of our last colour coded event on March 30th).
The sessions will last from 6 to 7:30pm, with parking adjacent to the woodshed (as used for registration on March 30th).
Turn west off the A1034 in Sancton at Grid Ref SE 901372 and follow the road for approx. 900m. Turn left on to the track at SE 893388. Parking / Assembly will be approx. 300m along the track. Please drive slowly as the track surface is uneven, particularly after the first 200m.
The session will cover a variety of skills, including relocation and recognising map symbols, but principally it will be an opportunity to get used to a technical orienteering area without the pressure of a race. We will finish with a short course.
It is not essential to attend both sessions, there will be different activities on each date.
I do need to know numbers for each date, so please reply to this email or to if you are reading this on the club web-site. There will be a charge to cover for maps, etc. £2 adults / £1 juniors
