Poacher Series – HALO – Humberside & Lincolnshire Orienteers

A series of 11 weekly Spring/Early Summer Local Orienteering Events on Wednesday evenings open to all.

Courses

Yellow – this course is designed for those new to orienteering (instruction is given) – 1.5 to 2km – easy 

Short – for experienced younger  participants and those who experienced and prefer a shorter course – 2.5 to 3.2km – technically  difficult 

Long – for experienced orienteers with a reasonable level of fitness – 4.5 to 6km – technically difficult & physical 

All comers are welcome to participate – however newcomers will be offered the yellow course only.  Instruction will be given by experienced HALO members.  Competence will need to be shown by individuals who wish to progress to more the more difficult courses.

We have British Orienteering Coaches within the Humber area who can arrange sessions for improvers – please ask.

Families of 4 or more         £5

Pre-Marked Bagged Maps

There will be a surcharge of £1 for hire of ‘dibbers’ which are essential for the electronic timing that is used.  HALO members have free access to these for the duration of the series.  Local family membership is £8 per year.

Starts are from 5:45pm – courses close at 7.30pm

Series Competition

Best 8 of 11 events count towards the overall winners of the Poacher Trophies. Winners of long and short courses each receive 50 points. This decreases to 1 point for 50th place.

• Champion(Lincolnshire Poacher Trophy)
• Womens Champion
• Masters(M/W45 )
• SuperVet(M/W60 )
• UltraVet(M/W70 )

Short Course Trophies

• Champion
• Lady Champion (open age class)
• Junior(M/W16-)
