HALO have teamed up with Hull CC to provide six more permanent orienteering course locations in the city’s parks. These are at Alderman Kneeshaw Recreation Ground, Bude Park Playing Fields, Oak Road Playing Fields, Pickering Park, West Park and Noddle Hill Nature Reserve. This brings the total to eight parks with the existing courses at East Park and Costello Playing Fields. Each of the parks has 3 options – short, medium and long courses. Hull CC have produced an orienteering booklet featuring all 24 courses.
The permanent courses will be launched during half-term week with events planned at the following parks:-
Monday October 24th October – Alderman Kneeshaw Recreation Ground
Tuesday October 25th October – West Park
Wednesday October 26th October – Noddle Hill Nature Reserve
Thursday October 27th October – Oak Road Playing Fields
All events are from 1pm to 3pm.
The permanent courses are aimed at families (although the long courses will challenge most participants) and it is hoped that many of those taking part will then want to extend their orienteering experience.
