This afternoon HALO’s Charlotte Ward was part of the victorious GB mixed relay Sprint Team at the World Univesity Orienteering Championships. Competing in Hungray the team were led off by Charlotte who already had gained a 7th place in the Individual race on Sunday and continued her good form by handing over in 3rd place only 6 seconds behind. The 2 men Peter Hodgkinson and Kris Jones were then able to take the lead before handing over to Megan Carter-Davies who was able to maintain the lead beating the Czech Republic by 50 seconds.
This is a fine achievement as GB’s reputation as a top Sprint Orienteering Nation grows all the time.
We all offer Charlotte, Amanda and Brian our warmest congratulations and wish Charlotte all the best at the World Championships in Sweden in 3 weeks. It certainly has been a busy year for our JK, British and now World (Uni) Champion.
