17/11/2012 Saturday Orienteering East Park, Hull

Report
Many thanks to everyone who turned up today, it makes the efforts of the Organising team all worthwhile. Despite a damp drizzly start to the afternoon, the sun came out to give everyone a pleasant run. It was good to see many newcomers who, judging by the number of courses they attempted enjoyed their afternoon.
We will be holding Saturday events nearly every week from January to March in the New Year and hope to see many of the newcomers again. See the Fixtures page for details of these events as they become available.
Bella continues to show good form with the fastest times on both the Yellow and White courses. Wooton youngster Dom had a good win on the Orange course and veteran Dave led the Green runners home with a fast time.
Routegadget is available for both the Orange and Green courses, have a look at it and see the routes people take. The big question is "Will the phantom "arrow dodger" own up to his (or her) route"?
A big thank you to all the club helpers for helping with setting up and clearing way, especially Matt, Oliver and Helen who were at East Park early in the morning to put all the controls out. We also witnessed the fastest ever clear up when the Park Rangers announced at 3:15 over the tannoy that the gates would be locked at 4pm. Considering people were still out on the courses, it is something of a miracle that we were out of the Park by 3:50.
