13/05/2015 Poacher 6 Primrose Warren
Report | Primrose is I believe now the only Poacher ever present, whereby it has been used every Series. So to produce courses that those of us have run here 30 plus times at all times of the year (day and night)all found enjoyable, interesting and unique is a testament to Rod's creative planning. The undergrowth and nettles were manageable and interspersed with plenty of path, track and ride running and crossing and cutting corners the extra planned distances produced optimum times. The Short was once again won by Flora - can she now become the first ever Poacher winner at all events? In the absence of Yasmin who had her head stuck in some Chemistry books, Luke took advantage and claimed first spot on the Medium, who took 30 minutes off his revision timetable to compete (well he does live only a few km from the area).Chris S, Jacob, Elena and Oliver all produced Series best positions. Paul upped his game on the Long this week and managed to overcome his fellow LOG nemesis Liam to take his 5th Series victory. Lawrence & Kate B once again produced Series best positions as did David J, Harriet and Andy. Special mention to some Poacher/HALO stalwarts who we have seen in recent weeks namely John F, Sue & John C who have all been instrumental in the past in supporting and developing the club through their Committee roles for many years in the not too distant past. Also last night another non HALO but Poacher stalwart Keith came out of retirement from his S Yorks home and successfully completed the Medium course. Next week we return to Nettleton Woods with parking at Watermill Leisure Park. Please obey the 10mph speed limit on site and close gates where necessary and follow the track to the fishing lakes area after approx 800m from entrance. |
