HALO has achieved ERCAS GOLD – the highest level of award under the East Riding Club Accreditation Scheme (ERCAS).
ERCAS is run by East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) on behalf of East Riding of Yorkshire Council and enables clubs to set and meet standards which will lead to better quality sports provision for young people. It aims to recognise clubs that offer an acceptable quality of service and to improve the quality and safety of the club’s infrastructure.
Clubs who have achieved accreditation in line with ERCAS must demonstrate they have the following policies and procedures in place within their organisation:
- qualified coaches
- Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure checked coaches and volunteers
- first aid requirements
- health and safety procedures (including risk assessment)
- child protection policy and procedures
- skill and development progression
- appropriate insurance
- club constitution.
As a GOLD member HALO is entitled to use school facilities in the East Riding at a reduced rates, ongoing support and guidance, access to potential grants, resources and possible partnerships, as well as invitations to special events and activities.
