A fine evening, yet windy, gave good conditions for practising the ‘Aiming Off’ technique. Participants were instructed in the various ways we use aiming-off. A discussion ensued re the merits of the technique. 3 courses were planned for practice. Course 2 had some long legs and the dashed line on the over-print showed the bearing to use so that the control would be found. Control boxes were used as markers so precision was required; amazingly there was no mispunching.
Sam led the warm-up prior to the technical stuff.
By 6.45 dusk was setting in so the 4 courses (A to D) on the maze were tackled swiftly. Again all cards were correct. The maze acted as 400m interval training with a short rest between each course.
For the competitive amongst you there are splits for courses (1 to 3) & (A to D).
Total running distance tonight was approx. 4.5km if you include the warm up.
